Many parents with children diagnosed with a sensory processing disorder, ADHD and/or autism struggle to find resources and support.

Christia DeShields and her husband Kenneth had this experience and have been inspired to share their story with others. The DeShields wrote and published the beautifully illustrated children’s book, Sensory Seeking Sebastian to empower sensory seekers with strategies that help with self-regulation.

During this episode, Christia shares insights to help parents support and encourage their children.





Christia DeShields is an educator, author, songwriter, musician, and creative. She and her husband have 3 little boys ages 2, 4, and 6, and they carry the spirit of family everywhere that they go. Sensory Seeking Sebastian is a book that empowers sensory seekers with strategies that help with self-regulation. Christia DeShields has been an educator in the public school system for over 10 years.

She and her husband Kenneth have a son who struggles with ADHD and Proprioceptive Sensory Disorder.  They learned these strategies and many more through Occupational Therapy with their sensory seeker. Since learning these strategies, their son takes the initiative to regulate himself.
